504 civil rights legislation is under attack!

 

This episode of Disability Viewpoints cohosted by Joan Willshire talks about the importance of the Civil rights legislation that was created under the 1973 Rehabilitation Act.  She talks with Steve Schmidt, a supervisor attorney at Disability Law Center, and David Perry, a writer, historian, and journalist.

 

Section 504 was the first law to codify the civil rights of people with disabilities by declaring any program or activity receiving federal funds cannot discriminate against qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
